MIL-PRF-32001
forth in MIL-STD-810, Method 501, Procedure I - Storage. Bring chamber air temperature up to
160°F (± 3°F) and 75% relative humidity (± 5%), once these conditions are attained, hold for an 8
hour storage period. Remove the fan unit and allow it to stabilize at room temperature then
perform a functional test per 4.3.3 at 600°F test base temperature only. The fan unit shall meet
the air flow requirement of Table I. Repeat the storage testing at an air temperature of -60°F (±
3°F) for 8 hours. Remove the fan unit from cold storage and perform a functional test per 4.3.3
at 600°F test base temperature, with the exception that the test base shall be brought to 600°F
prior to placing the fan unit on and the fan shall be placed on the test base within 1 minute after
removal from cold storage. The fan unit shall meet the air flow requirement of Table I.
4.5.4 Operating temperature range test. Provide ambient temperatures of 100°F (± 3°F) and
perform a functional test per 4.3.3 at 600°F test base temperature only. The fan shall meet the air
flow requirement of Table I.
4.6 Interface and interoperability requirements verification.
4.6.1 Dimensional inspection. Measure the outside envelope dimensions of the fan unit. The
overall fan unit diameter shall be 14.25 inches or less. The overall height shall be less than 10
inches. The base diameter shall be greater than 4.75 inches and less than 5.00 inches. The base
height shall be greater than 0.5 inches. Measure storage case to verify a cube of less than 1.85
cubic feet.
